Girlfriends are good for that kind of thing. Uh - not that I would know, I guess. Rachel wasn't really the knitting kind of girl.

I mean, she's pretty cute in general, but yeah. She kinda knits for like everyone she knows, but she made this one just for me. [He's got a stupid little happy smile and everything.]

She leans in to look at the scarf a little closer though and it's... probably better knit than Fern's, but hey, the girl tried, and that's what matters most. ] How sentimental. [ It's not said as sarcastically as it could have been and the smile on her face shows she's only teasing for fun. ]
[He'll have to remember to follow up on this little crush of hers later. For now, though, he lets it mostly drop.]
And practical. Though, she knit... a lot of them. Seriously, I think I have more scarves than socks. But I can't turn her down whenever she gives me another one.
