Fish and egg pies? Can't say I ever had them, but they sound delicious! [In all honesty he's not so sure of that, but if she likes it, he's willing to try it...] I'm gonna come back broke. I can't wait.
[It's just a fact of life for a rifter in Thedas. Ten to one, someone of the general public will distrust you. At least he's used to hiding things on his body. First the barcode on his wrist, and now the shard on his hand.
Her voice may be quiet, but the words pack a powerful force that leaves him speechless. Prompto's left sitting there for a moment, completely speechless. Besides Noctis, no one's ever really told him, directly or not, that they were happy to know him and have him around. Sure, Gladio and Iggy - hopefully - felt the same, but it's bizarre to him to hear it out loud.]
I miss them, but, I'm glad in a way I got to meet everyone here. You especially, Saoirse. You and everyone else have made it a lot easier to be here. Thank you. [He means it. Transitioning to life here hasn't been easy, but his friends have eased it.] As for your dad, hey, I don't mind talking about myself for a little while. [It's his turn to chuckle.] Hopefully he won't think I'm crazy.
Don't worry, I know where you can get the very best deals. I'll make sure you won't go broke.
( again, Saoirse is quiet but in that silence there might be some movement Prompto can make out along with a door opening and then closing. vaguely, voices are now able to be heard but are muffled out quickly as she passes them in her quick strides along the halls of the Gallows. )
It makes me happy that I can help. I'm here for you, okay? Remember that and like you came to help me, know that I will always be here to help you if I can. ( but, ah-- back to the easier talks. ) Hopefully you won't think he's crazy! I'll try to calm him back down if he gets too excited.
[For both volunteering to make sure he doesn't go broke and, more importantly, being there for him. People have his back here, and that means a lot to him. More so as someone who spent far too many years alone. But there's something about the thought of her wanting to come to his aid, knowing that she likes him enough to want him around, that makes his heart flutter.
...oh. Oh he knows this feeling. Oh.
He snaps out of his thoughts when she resumes talking about her father, yet again glad she can't see him at the moment.]
Trust me, I've seen crazy. The bad kind. I don't think there's anything your dad could do to weird me out too much.
( he might not see her currently, but these people currently sharing the hall with her certainly notice as Saoirse raises her hands to her cheeks and happily spins as she walks. what a dork, what a loser but it's a nice feeling she decides. one day, she'll have to actually address the feeling but for now it's nice to simply float along.
float along and try to keep her eyes out for a familiar fluff of blond hair. )
Only excitable, thankfully. He might even start going off in our alienage's language but I'll be there to translate if he does.
[He chuckles bashfully at that. While he'd beg to differ, he'll let the compliment hang and just soak in it. Anyone in the library where he's currently hanging out sees how wide his grin is, and the way he's staring at the crystal softly.
Hmm! I'm sure some do... though I am not sure at how it might be laid out.
( it was something to think about. )
Some alienages will speak more Elvish than others but most simply speak the language of their home country with perhaps a unique dialect. I know we in Starkhaven are rather different than most with our language.
[He's gonna take her word for it because 1. not a native and 2. not a linguist in absolutely any regard. It sounds right, though? Separate cultures developing separate languages and all that jazz?]
I don't think I've heard the language of Starkhaven. How's it different?
