Like a daaaaate? [There's a teasing chuckle, but shortly thereafter his tone falls a bit more serious.] Man, we could definitely do with one. It's been one thing after another lately.
Perhaps down to the market first? I just thought of how we first met there and there might be new vendors in town now that the weather has become warmer. We could even find a nice place to sit down and have lunch... like a picnic! Is there anywhere you would like to go?
Hmm. We can always find a nice place in the sun, away from the sea breeze and I have a lot of new scarves to use. Don't forget that I'm a master at warming runes now.
( that blue flu was rough. ) And I've never been on a winter picnic though. I've never really been on any sort of picnic before.
True, you've been knitting up a storm. [Yarn. Yarn everywhere.] And yeah, a few warming runes should help. Can't say I've ever been on a picnic, either. Do we have a basket we can use? Oh, and a blanket! I should have one of those...
I think wine would be very needed after all this excitement... though before we decide too much, and I talk myself out of this once again. I have another favor to ask of you. ( there's a quietness to her voice, one that stands in contrast to the excitement she had just shown. )
There's something very important I must do tonight and it is something I must ask of you in person. Will you come by my room?
( she's by her open window when he arrives. she stands dressed down, hair untied from their normal braid and a rather unreadable expression on her face. nevertheless, Saoirse smiles when she sees him. )
Hi. ( she says warmly, turning fully to face him and finally showing the ornate vial held in her hands. it would almost be pretty, glowing faintly as it were if it wasn't the fact that it was full of her blood. ) I'm sorry I asked you here so suddenly.
S'all good, I never mind. [He eyes up that vial in her hands. The color's unmistakable, and it doesn't take Prompto real long to piece it together.] Is that your phylactery? You found it?
( she smiles again at him, warm and loving before her own gaze shifts down. she holds the vial in shaky hands, one's that have not stopped shaking since the phylactery was brought to her hours ago by one of the scouts. )
Yes. They found them in the Storm Coast with many others, I... I'm surprised they weren't all broken immediately. That they'd actually think to return them to us.
[The shaking doesn't go unnoticed. Prompto crosses the room to her, gently taking her hands in his. A squeeze of support.]
Well, it should be up to you guys what's done with them. You've got a part of you in it. [It's given the mages a choice they hadn't had before.] So... what do you want to do with it?
( she is grateful for the gesture, more than words can say and although the shaking does not stop— she feels safe. safer than she's felt since saoirse was given the pulsating vial of blood.
the question prompto gives her is met with wide, unsure eyes before her gaze flickers over her shoulder toward her window which opened up to the harbor. )
Although I suffered there was still good offered by the Circles. We can continue that good but it cannot be like this. ( her words punctuated by the squeezing of the vial. ) Acts such as this cannot follow us into whatever future we create.
[This is a big decision, and he's not looking to rush her.]
They sound awful all around, but you know, I wasn't there, and I... I've been told there's a lot of sides to the whole thing. I believe you, and you're right. If nothing else, some stuff has gotta change. [He looks down at the vial again.] If you're not ready, we can just hang onto it and put it somewhere safe until you figure it out.
It is, in truth, not so easy to explain. Circles cannot be seen in either black nor white, there is much grey to be seen and many voices to be heard. I was given much that I might not have had in the alienage...
( still she takes a deep breath, shoulders dropping and shaking her head. ) But I did not ask to be leashed. Magic, like many things, is a gift from the Maker... not a curse. I am not a monster undeserving of happiness because I was born a mage. I won't be treated less than what I truly am any longer.
Perhaps we'll both need a night to talk about ourselves. There is much I wish to ask you too.
( she adjusts one of her hands to turn it over away from the vial, lacing their fingers together and giving his hand a squeeze. she hopes it's enough to show him that he is more than enough comfort for her.
still, there is a moment of pause before she raises a brow and grins at him. in one shift moment she turns, throwing the vial from her hand and out through her open window. just as quickly, lightning ignites in the air with a loud crack from her open palm. it's almost deafening, the sound of glass scattering and blood burning but she turns back to him with a tired, but happy look. )
All I want right now is you. Won't... will you stay with me?
[He nods, acquiescing. A part of him fears what she'll ask. There are still things he's not sure he's ready to talk about. His origins, and some of what he endured during his time on the road in particular.
Luckily what she does next thoroughly distracts him from his thoughts. While he's not entirely surprised she threw it out the window - she'd been eyeing it ever since he stepped inside her room - he is surprised at the bolt of lightning that follows. Prompto nearly leaps straight up where he stands. It takes him a moment to settle and realize that was Saoirse's doing.]
Ha...
[Okay, his heart rate starts slowing to a normal rate...
...uuuuuntil she says that.]
I - of course I'm staying. [It never occurs to him she might mean something else. He's all smiles as he draws her in close for a hug.] I'm not going anywhere, ever. I'm with ya.
( her heart is still pounding like a drum in her chest, the air around her still tingling with lingering magic and electricity. there's a sigh that escapes her when he draws her in close for a hug, helping to settle her nerves and wash away the lingering feel of the veil around them. her hands settle around him, returning the hug although she looks up meekly at his words...
she certainly feels better in this current moment but it does not stop the blush on her face that spills out from her cheeks and out to the tips of her ears. )
Mm. I'm grateful more than I can say but what I meant— ( HMMMMM. ) What I am asking is if you will stay the night, here, with me.

I think so too. I just want a day where I can forget about everything but you, relax a little and just get away from this place.

Date night it is then! There anywhere in particular you wanna go?

( oops. she sounds so perfectly excited. )

Man, a picnic would be great. You don't think it'll be too cold, though?

...two. Open to negotiation, but first things first. Sure. You there now?

( already she can feel a headache settling in. ) I am. The door is open, so you may let yourself in.
--> action
Totally can if you want. I'll be there in a jiffy.
[DOOT DOOT DOOT, THROUGH THE POWER OF FAST FORWARDING:
Prompto gently knocks to announce himself before he pushes open her door.]
Hey.

If you ever want to talk about any of it - the good or the bad - you've always got my ear.
[He runs his thumb over her hand, hoping to provide some comfort. Or something.]
Atta girl. You've got your whole life ahead of you now. No more leashes or anything, not if you don't want there to be any.
