( quietly, she let's her thumb stroke his cheek and hopes it might quell some of his frazzled nerves. there is no disappointment on her features nor anything that might be read negative, simply the same warm and loving smile she always gave him. the one he managed to bring out of her without any work at all. )
You do not need to thank me, m'eudail.( the affectionate name slips out without thought as she raises onto her tiptoes to kiss his forehead and then his nose before placing a soft (and she hopes calming) kiss to his lips. ) Let us go and lay down, hmm? When can talk more about our plans for Sunday.
[He leans into her touch, soaking in all the comfort and calmness she provides. If only he was ready for it, but he knows that no amount of bravado or optimism on his part will help him through it. He's simply not ready, as much as it pains him.
He returns her kiss, a smile finally finding his way to his face. How can he not when she's looking at him like that?]
Okay. [Sounds great to him. Maybe his heart rate will go down and the blush with it. That'd be nice.] Also, do I wanna ask what a...a... me-yoo-dale is?
( she is glad to feel him relax under her touch and even more so when he smiles back at her. squeezing his hand, she smiles more before moving to lead him toward the bed and only letting when she moves to start getting comfortable. )
M'eudail?( saoirse repeats, as she tries not to chuckle too much. instead sits down on her bed, drawing her knees up to her chest and giving him another happy smile. ) Darling, sweetheart... a term of affection we have.
[He takes a seat on the bed, carefully removing his boots. No need to dirty her bed. Once they're off, he looks back over his shoulder at her. His cheeks turn pink again when she explains.]
Oh... well, I'd call you the same thing but I think I already wrecked the pronunciation enough. [He smiles sheepishly.] Think I'll have to stick to - you call it the "trade" language here, right? The one everyone uses?
( and she simply continues to smile, watching him with a warm look and chuckling. )
It's wasn't so bad. ( it was bad enough though... ) That's correct. Some also call it the "common" tongue or King's tongue. It was invented by the dwarves some Ages ago.
You're way too nice to me. [Because it absolutely was bad and he's well aware. At least it's not him trying to mimic a Starkhaven accent.] It's all I hear. Well, mostly. I think I heard a couple Orlesians talking in a funny language a little while back. But I've never heard someone in this city speak, like, Kirkwallian.
You're rather cute. I can't be mean to you. ( a saddened sigh as if this is such a heavy cross she must bear. )
I suppose we are lucky in that regard. Most other countries and the other races have their own languages aside from the Free Marches and Ferelden though our accents to differ from one another.
Because obviously they are lacking both a good eye and taste. ( is she kidding? probably, probably not but she is smiling as she stretches her legs out and yawns. )
Well... there were the early human tribes which people like the Avvar and Chasind come from. I'm not to so familiar with human history though. ( she scrunches her nose. ) And then much of the Free Marches were once under Tevinter control so I imagine most here spoke Tevene or some version of it.
